Guest Speaker: Bob Reza
Biography:
Bob Reza was born and raised in East Los Angeles where he graduated from Roosevelt High School. He went on to attend college and in 1979 he graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a degree in education. He returned to his old neighborhood as a High School Teacher and taught for the Los Angeles Unified School District and coached football at his Alma Mater, Roosevelt High School. In 1982, Bob changed professions and went into law enforcement.
Bob started his law enforcement career with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) where he worked as a Police Officer in South Los Angeles and East Los Angeles. During his tenure with the CHP, Bob was also a member of the Latino Peace Officer’s Association and in 1988 he was named Latino Peace Officer of the Year and he was awarded the Humanitarian Award by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for his charitable work in the community.
In 1990, Bob accepted a position with the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (DOJ/BNE). As a Special Agent for DOJ/BNE, Bob worked undercover narcotics and gang enforcement, and in 1994 he was awarded the Medal of Meritorious Service for an Officer Involved Shooting with armed gang members. Bob retired in 2004 after twenty-two years of service and now works as a Private Investigator.
Bob started SPI Investigations in 1998 and he currently manages a team of licensed investigators that specialize in SIU investigations. SPI Investigations is based out of Huntington Beach, California and is currently contracted by several nationwide insurance companies and Third Party Administrators to conduct SIU investigations in Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, Property and Inland Marine/Cargo Theft.
Bob has over twenty-five years of teaching experience as a High School Teacher, law enforcement instructor and as a Private Investigator teaching Claims Mitigation and Loss Prevention to corporations and insurance companies. Bob is also a consultant for the History Channel and recently was featured on the T.V. program “Gangland” and he is also a consultant for Lexus Nexus in new product development.
