Southern California Fraud Investigators' Association Scholarship

The Southern California Fraud Investigators' Association (SCFIA) provides a one-time, partial college scholarship in the amount of fifteen hundred dollars ($1500). It is available to all SCFIA active or retired member's children or grandchildren who are graduating from high school with a minimum 2.5 GPA or who are attending college. No applicant may receive more than one SCFIA Scholarship however you may reapply if you are not selected. Please submit the application appearing at the Southern California Fraud Investigators' Association website and an autobiographical essay containing a minimum of 750 words. The student's essay should include educational goals, what an education means to him or her and personal and career goals. The student should briefly describe himself or herself, his or her family, and personal interests and hobbies. They should include any information they feel would be helpful to the Scholarship Committee. Scholarship Awards are based on the applicants' overall merit, as determined by the Committee, such as scholastic achievement, character, personal and career goals, extracurricular activities and community service.

The application and essay should be submitted to Jim Harbin, P.O.Box 15926, Long Beach, CA 90815 no later than September 30, 2011.
